Hi, I’m Sam Locke, an Industrial Designer with almost 20 years of experience creating retail displays, exhibition environments, packaging and product solutions for brands across Australia and around the world.
I began my career in London in 2006, working on projects for major international brands and retailers from the outset. Since then, I’ve delivered work across the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and the United States, gaining valuable experience across different markets and manufacturing environments.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked with agencies, manufacturers, retailers and brand owners to develop practical and engaging designs that not only look great but are also commercially viable and ready for production. My experience spans temporary point-of-sale displays, permanent retail fixtures, exhibition stands, packaging concepts, and custom product development.
What I enjoy most is solving problems through design. Every project presents a unique challenge, whether it’s attracting attention in a retail environment, communicating a brand message at an event, or creating a product that is both functional and manufacturable. Good design is about more than aesthetics. It requires an understanding of the objective, the audience, the budget, and the realities of production.
My background provides a strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production methods. This experience has allowed me to develop concepts that move smoothly from the initial idea through to final installation. I believe the best outcomes come from combining creative thinking with practical knowledge and clear communication.
Today, I work closely with clients from concept development through to production, providing design, 3D visualisation, technical documentation and production-ready solutions. Whether you’re developing a retail display, exhibition stand, packaging project, or a completely new product, I bring a hands-on, collaborative approach focused on delivering successful, real-world outcomes.
If you’re looking for an experienced designer who understands both creativity and commercial reality, I’d love to hear about your next project.
